The City of Peoria Police Department provides a Vacation Watch patrol for when you are on vacation. This patrol is staffed by volunteer to the Peoria Police Department. This program is not intended for those residents who leave the community during the summer months. Information on this service, and a form you can fill out on-line is at the following link.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Whether you sign-up for this Vacation Watch patrol or not, it is very important that you always let your neighbors know when you will be gone, and ask them to please keep an eye on your home and pickup any papers that may get tossed onto your driveway or left at your front door. Stop your newspapers and your mail if you can. You never want the house to look like no one is home. Put lights on automatic timers at night. In addition, it is always a good idea to give a neighbor or friend a key to the house so they can do a walk through once a week or so to check the place out. We have seen cases where the water softener springs a leak, or one of the hoses running to the washing machine starts to leak.
