All solicitors that visit any home in the City of Peoria (i.e. In Ventana Lakes) MUST HAVE and MUST PRESENT when REQUESTED by a resident in the City Of Peoria a registration card that has been issued by the City Of Peoria Police Department. This card is issued free by the Police Department. Each person must have this registration card - one registration card in a group of people canvassing the neighborhood is not valid except for the single person whose name appears on the registration card. Solicitors are also not to be in the community in the evening or early morning hours per the City of Peoria. The following is the City of Peoria Code specifying that it is unlawful to solicit… in the City of Peoria without having a registration card issued by the city in the possession of every solicitor. The Peoria Police Department has told us that we are to call them if any solicitor does not present this registration card when requested. If a solicitor comes to your door ask to see their City of Peoria Registration Card. If they do not have one politely say no thank you, and call the police at the non-emergency number and let them know that solicitors are in Ventana Lakes that have not registered with the City. The Peoria Police Department will take the appropriate action.

In addition, it is unlawful for any peddlers, solicitors, or canvassers to ring your doorbell or knock at your door during the execution of his or her business if you display on your home a sign in public view that states "No Peddlers, No Solicitors, or No Canvassers".
