Automobile VIN Number
Window Etching

Automobile VIN Number Window Etching is a process where the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for a your vehicle is acid etched into the glass of every window on the vehicle.  The etching is small, and placed in an unobtrusive area of each window.

By having the VIN number etched into the glass of every window, the vehicle becomes less desirable for a thief to steal because the thief will have difficulty fencing the vehicle or the vehicle parts without incurring the added expense of changing out every piece of glass on the vehicle.  Having the VIN number etched in each window of a vehicle helps to easily identify the owner of a vehicle and makes it difficult for a thief to remove the identification number so he or she can sell the vehicle to an unsuspecting purchaser.

The City Of Peoria Police Department is offering free Automobile VIN Number Window Etching to the residents of Ventana Lakes and the City from time-to-time.  If you would like to have the window glass of your vehicle etched with the VIN number of your automobile, go to the Ventana Lakes POA Management Office (10874 W. Chino Drive) and put your name on a waiting list of residents desiring to have this done.  These names will be provided to the City Of Peoria, and when enough names are on the list the City Of Peoria Police Department will setup a window etching station somewhere either in or close to Ventana Lakes.

When a date and time is established for this Window Etching you will be contacted and told when and where you can take your vehicle to get this done.
